Every Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Bible carries 81 sacred books, fourteen more than the King James, including the lost books of Enoch, Jubilees, and Meqabyan I through III. Now hand bound in premium leather, translated into modern English.
For nearly 1,700 years, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has preserved the oldest, most complete canon of Scripture on Earth. We translate it faithfully and bind it beautifully.
Enoch, Jubilees, 4 Ezra, the three books of Meqabyan, Joseph ben Gorion, preserved nowhere else.
Translated for clarity from the Ge'ez originals by Ethiopian Orthodox scholars and editors. Footnotes preserve nuance.
Smyth sewn pages, gilt edges, two satin ribbon markers, hand finished cover. Built to last generations.
Choose a side by side English and Ge'ez (the original Ethiopian liturgical script) edition for study and devotion.
Color biblical era maps, the Ethiopian Synaxarium, a 48 page topical index, and full timeline of the prophets.
Printed plan that walks you through all 81 books in one year, with Enoch and Jubilees included.
Each edition is the result of careful translation, expert review, and hand finishing. Here is what goes into every Bible we ship.

Our editorial board includes Ethiopian Orthodox scholars formally trained in Ge'ez, Greek, and Hebrew. Every passage is cross referenced against the Septuagint and Hebrew Masoretic texts. Translator footnotes are added wherever the Ethiopian text diverges from other traditions.

Our leather and hardcover editions are bound by a third generation family bindery in Pennsylvania that has been making books since 1962. Pages are Smyth sewn for durability, edges are hand gilt with real gold leaf, and covers are stamped with traditional foil dies.

Every Bible is hand inspected for binding, gilt, and printing quality before it leaves our facility. Orders are packed in branded protective packaging and shipped via USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL International depending on destination and service level.
"We aren't reinventing the Ethiopian Bible. We're carrying a 1,700 year old text across a translation bridge, and printing it well enough that the next generation will want to keep it."
Yonas is the son of Ethiopian Orthodox émigrés, a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, and a former research associate at the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library. He founded Tewahedo Press in 2022.
"I waited years for an English Bible that included Enoch and Jubilees in one volume. The leather binding is gorgeous and the translation is readable. I read it every morning."
"This is the Bible I will pass to my children. The Ge'ez parallel edition is helping me reconnect with the language of my parents."
"Beautifully printed, generous margins, and the inclusion of Meqabyan was the deciding factor. Shipping was fast and packaging felt like a gift."
Tewahedo Press was founded by descendants of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo diaspora to make our complete biblical canon, long preserved in Ge'ez manuscripts inside monasteries from Lalibela to Debre Damo, accessible in modern English.
We work with Ethiopian Orthodox scholars, Western biblical translators, and family run binderies to produce a Bible that honors the text and is built to be read for a lifetime.
